Costa Calma beach is one of the tourist gems of the island of Fuerteventura . It is located in the southeastern coast of the island and in the municipality of Pájara . We can reach there by road using the FV-2 road. If you’re starting from Morro Jable, which is located in the south of the island, you must pay attention because in a few minutes you will reach a roundabout that will allow you to go to this resort or go to La Pared beach. Take the first exit to the right, just to the side of the island rising. You will enter a small town which has developed exclusively as a tourist resort.
Costa Calma beach has received the award that is only given to high quality beaches, the Blue flag certification. This is given by an independent organization to beaches that maintain high standards of cleanliness, accessibility, environmental care, and safety of the users of the infrastructure.
If you rent a car, you can park in many of the designated areas . For example , if you enter through the Barranco de las Damas street , you can park all along it. At the end of this street, there is a walkway from which you can enter the beach directly . If you come to Costa Calma from the north, you can park in the open areas but must be obey the traffic rules.. In the north, you have the pedestrianized El Granillo street. and from where you can access this area of the beach , but if you do not like beaches with rocky seabeds, it is better to walk a little further towards the south of the beach. If you like to be a little further away from the hustle and bustle, you can stay in this area and take advantage of the natural circular stone, which protect you from the wind (on windy days). Another major street from which you can go to the beach of Costa Calma is Avenida Jahn Reisen which is located right in the center of the resort.
The sand of Costa Calma beach is yellow. The total length is 2190 meters and the average width is of 30 meters. Out of these nearly 2 kilometers of sandy coastline, about 300 meters have got a rocky seafloor.
In terms of services that can be found on the Costa Calma beach, there are emergency services such as Red Cross, that pay attention to the possible needs of tourists or local users. You can rent umbrellas and sunbeds to relax comfortably under the sun. Paddle boats (which have mini water slides) are also available for rent. If you like speed, you can take a ride on the banana boats. Jetskis are also available for rent throughout the year.
