La Oliva beaches, in the north of the island, are great. They are located on the west coast, on the north coast, and on the east coast of the island of Fuerteventura.

The Grandes Playas are the group name for a number of linked beaches that front on to the Sand Dunes National Park, just to the south of Corralejo. They are easterly facing, and can be accessed from the FV-1 main road, which runs along the back of the beaches and through the famous sand dunes. Car parking is allowed in certain places along this road on a wide hard shoulder. Parking off road should not be done because of the soft sand and shifting sand. All the beaches are of golden sand and hold a 2015 Blue Flag award. Some of the beaches have sunbeds and parasols for hire; some are well-known naturist beaches; some are the location for kite surfers; some are the location for windsurfers and some are the location for surfers.
The beach nearest to Corralejo on the dunes is called Playa de Corralejo, and this links to Playa Bajo Negro, Playa de los Matos, Playa del Morro, Playa Alzada, El Caseron, El Pozo, El Viejo, El Rosadero, El Dormidero, El Bajo Medio, El Burro, Larga, La Clavellinas, Medano, Punto Remedios, Punta Prieta (Flag Beach) and Caleta Beartriz. These Fuerteventura beaches form about an 8km long beach.
There are two main locations for beaches in El Cotillo. To the south of the village are the golden sand beaches which are on the west coast. The Esquinzo, Piedra Playa and El Aljibe de la Cueva/La Escalera beaches, which are about 1500 metres in length, are the preferred location for the surfers, kitesurfers and windsurfers. Access is by a rough track on top of the cliffs. Other beaches in this area are called Caleta de Marrajo, El Castillo, El Islote, El Marrajo and La Barra and these are more isolated. To the north of El Cotillo there is the popular La Concha beach which has 200 metres of golden sand in a horseshoe shape which faces on to a safe, natural lagoon. Nearby is the sandy Marfolin/Los Lagos beach. These beaches are also used by naturists.
2 km off the coast of Fuerteventura is the small island of Los Lobos. There are two beaches on the island, which are accessed by a daily, pleasure boat link from Corralejo. La Concha, or La Caleta, is a horseshoe shaped beach which has 200 metres of golden sand. At the south east, is El Puertito, which is a small natural cove.
In the resort of Corralejo there are two beach areas. Muelle Chico is a 190km long beach of golden sand, in the old part of the town. Further south is La Goleta beach which is popular as it has sun beds and parasols for hire.
Along the northern coast, from El Cotillo to Corralejo, there are a number of small, white sand beaches which can be accessed off the track that runs along the coast. On the west coast there are two isolated beaches that are worth a visit by a 4x4 vehicle. They are both near the village of Tindaya, and are called "Playa de Tebeto" and "Playa de la Mujer". Both are about 250 metres long.
