Welcome to Fuerteventura Beaches

Have you visited the Fuerteventura beaches ?  Not yet ? Well, then you're missing out on one of the world's best. Fuerteventura is an island belonging to the Canaries (Spain), and is located near the northwestern coast of the African continent. It has great weather (around 22ÂșC) during the whole year, and that is why so many people love its beaches. You can swim, practice water sports, or just sit under the sun, when it is freezing cold in most parts of northern Europe, which is when many tourists come to the island. It only takes between 4-5 hours to reach its modern airport.

Besides the wonderful beaches, there are plenty of other things to do. You can go on excursions to explore the tiny villages, go shopping, or just have a beer under the sun in the many bars and restaurants. We encourage you to learn the following words in Spanish: "Dos cervezas, por favor" which mean "2 beers, please."

You will notice something immediately, as soon as you get to Fuerteventura: total calmness. The island is big, and you will rarely find overcrowded beaches, or as a matter of fact, anything, unless ten buses of tourists are released at the same time, on the same beach. This just doesn't happen. Many people take advantage of this calmness to totally disconnect from the day to day affairs and break away from the routine.

The local people from Fuerteventura, which are known as "mahoreros", are very open and  friendly. So, if you get lost, you can always stop people on the street, and ask for directions. Then, you can thank, and meet your new friend :D
