Cheap Holidays in Fuerteventura: How to Plan Them

Cheap holidays in Fuerteventura are possible, at any time of the year, with a little bit of research and planning.  It will require you to keep checking different websites over a period of time as prices for flights do fluctuate.

A comparison website like Skyscanner will compare flight prices for the time that you are looking for, or you can go directly on to a low cost airlines website like Ryanair or Jet2.  If you can be flexible on dates then you might be able to get return flights to Fuerteventura for around 100€, although during peak periods, such as Christmas/New Year, Easter and the main Summer Holiday, then prices will be over 250€.

Cheap Holidays in Fuerteventura: Booking Directly Vs. Through the Touroperator

Accomodation in apartments or hotels can be booked directly with owners or hotel websites, and in most cases, this will be considerably cheaper than booking through a tour operator.

A website like www.lowcostholidays.co.uk shows the cheapest 2 week holiday in Caleta de Fuste, can cost 709 pounds(51 pounds a night) for 2 people in a 1 bedroomed apartment, self-catering in October 2025. Flying with Ryanair from Birmingham in October 2025 with 20kg luggage would cost 248 pounds.

Using low cost airlines and booking cheap accommodation will significantly reduce the cost of a holiday.  If you can make do with basic, self catering accommodation then you can have a low cost holiday in the sun.

A Jet2 Holiday booked directly with them for 14 nights self catering for 2 people at Cay Beach Caleta de Fuste in June 2026 will cost 1460 pounds to fly from Birmingham, and to include a 22kg bag allowance, a 10kg hand luggage and coach transfers.

To book directly with Cay Beach costs 712 pounds for the same holiday. Added to this are the flights - with Jet2 they cost 290 pounds with a 10kg allowance, and with Ryanair 354 pounds with a 20 kg allowance. Added to this would be 30 pounds to cover the taxis to and from Fuerteventura airport. This can be a saving of 350 pounds if you are prepared to travel with less luggage and do a bit of homework before booking.

Many people are quite happy to relax around the pool or on the beach, but if you want to travel around the island, then car hire starts at around 25€ per day.  Alternatively, the service buses, operated by Tiadhe, offer an efficient and relatively cheap way of getting around the island.  Buying a 5€ travel car (bono) off the bus driver, topped up with amounts from 15-50€, will give you a 10% discount on all journeys.

Eating out can be cheap as well.  Many cafes and bars offer full English breakfast (with tea, coffee or juice) for 4.50€; main lunches and evening meals are around 9.50€ for a main course; and a pint of local beer is around 3€.  Many bars also have happy hours, so drinks are even better value.

So it is worth doing some research to find cheap holidays in Fuerteventura at any time of the year.  It is one of the few places in Europe that offer all year round sunshine and temperatures that allow you to sunbathe in any month.  Many people don’t actually spend much time in their holiday accommodation, so as long as it meets your basic requirements, then why pay more for luxuries and space.
