Best Antigua Beaches in Fuerteventura

The main beaches in Antigua are:

Caleta de Fuste

In Caleta de Fuste there is a main beach in the centre of the resort which is a favourite for families as it is a large, 800 metre long, stretch of golden sand.  There are sun beds and parasols for hire, and because of the positioning of the nearby harbour wall, there are hardly any waves, and the beach slopes gently into the sea.  A beach renovation project is planned for 2016.  The beach is used by a windsurf and stand up paddle school. Two km to the south there is the La Guirra beach.  This is a man-made lagoon style beach in front of the Sheraton and Carlota Hotels.  The 700 metre long beach is made up of golden sand.  Access is next to the Atlantico Commercial Center.

Salinas del Carmen

Three km south of Caleta de Fuste is the small village of Salinas del Carmen, just off the FV-2 road.  The beach, called El Muellito, has golden sand, and is a place to relax as it is very quiet.

Pozo Negro

Pozo Negro, a small village on the east coast, has a black sand beach which is 300 metres long.  There are a couple of traditional Spanish style restaurant that face on to the beach, and is an out of the way location.
