Beaches in Tuineje

The Municipality of Tuineje is located in the south-east part of the island and has beaches on the east coast. This small municipality in the Fuerteventura boasts not only pristine beaches but as well as premier resorts and water sports. No wonder Fuerteventura is one of the top getaway destination in Europe.

The main beaches in Tuineje are:

Gran Tarajal

The main town is Gran Tarajal, and it has a long 800 metre beach of black sand.  The beach is backed by a promenade with a range of restaurants.


Las Playitas

Four kilometers north of Gran Tarajal is the village of Las Playitas.  The 730 metre long beach, of black sand is used by the nearby sea sport schools, which offer scuba diving and sailing.  There are sun beds and parasols for hire.


Tarajalejo

The beach at the small resort of Tarajalejo was awarded a Blue Flag in 2015.  It is composed of black sand and as it is on the east coast, but faces south, it is protected from the prevailing wind.  It is 1370 metres long.


Giniginimar

This beach is at the small village of the same name.  It is 550 metres long and is made of black sand.
