R2 Rio Calma Hotel

The R2 Rio Calma Hotel is a modern hotel, built in a Colonial style, on the hillside which slopes down to the beach at the north end of Costa Calma. The hotel has extensive sub-tropical gardens and water features that go down to the small beach. The hotel is popular with couples and families that like a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Location

The hotel is located at the extreme northern end of the resort of Costa Calma, so is quite isolated, but sits in an enviable position overlooking the sea. It is about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Costa Calma, which is a mainly hotel and apartment based resort. The hotel has sloping grounds and the Reception floor, at road level, is actually on Level 6 of the hotel. The small beach is about a 15 minute walk from the Reception and is downhill all the way.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel has a buffet style restaurant called the ‘Rosa James, and a la carte restaurant called ‘Pajara’, a poolside bar called ‘Mirador del Bahia’ and a beach bar called ‘Las Cascadas’. The hotel has two outside swimming pools, a children’s pool area and a miniclub. There is a Spa Center. Next to the 24 hour Reception area is a unique botanical garden conservatory. The hotel offers a range of facilities for sports, and also conference facilities.

How to Get to the Hotel

From Fuerteventura Airport you take the FV-2 road, signposted to Morro Jable. After a distance of 92 km you arrive at Costa Calma. At the first roundabout in the resort turn left, and immediately at the mini roundabout turn left again on to the Avenida de Jahn Reisen and head slightly up hill. At the next mini roundabout turn left on to Calle Agustin Millares and go past the Hotels Costa Calma Beach and Nautilus which are on the right. At the next mini roundabout go straight on, and follow the road as it bears left and goes up to the R2 Rio Calma which is on the right.
